AMD Promotes Ruth Cotter to Expanded Role as Senior Vice President Human Resources, Corporate Communications, and Investor Relations
Robert Gama Named Corporate Vice President and Chief Talent Officer
SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/11/15 -- AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) today announced the promotion of Ruth Cotter (44) to senior vice president of Human Resources, Corporate Communications, and Investor Relations reporting to President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su. In this expanded role, Cotter is responsible for overseeing all aspects of these three corporate functions and driving cross-functional alignment to help the company achieve its business objectives. Further building out the HR leadership team, Robert Gama (42) will take on additional responsibility driving AMD's HR strategy, operations, and execution as chief talent officer, reporting to Cotter.

A 13-year AMD veteran, Cotter previously led AMD's global relationships with the media, industry analysts and Wall Street as corporate vice president of communications and investor relations. Prior to joining AMD, Cotter spent several years at Trintech Group plc, a leading provider of transaction risk management solutions co-headquartered in Ireland and the USA, and CRH plc, one of the world's largest building materials groups, growing her investor relations expertise. Before that, she gained public relations experience in the public, banking, and consumer industries. Cotter serves on the National Investor Relations Institute's (NIRI) Board of Directors and the San Jose Sister City Program Board of Directors. She was nominated as a "Woman Worth Watching" by the Diversity Journal in September 2014.
As corporate vice president of HR, Gama has spent the last three years working to transform the HR practices of the AMD worldwide engineering team. Gama joined AMD from Lenovo, where he held various roles, including HR vice president with responsibility for worldwide staffing, learning, executive and management development, culture, talent management, organizational development, and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to that, he worked at PepsiCo and spent eight years at Dell.
